To communicate the brand’s core values of playfulness, provenance and propriety, Barima delivered the copy for Kent Wang’s online presence, imbuing the product descriptions and social media posts with a tone of voice that reads as both conversational and educational
Kent and Barima also jointly produced the inaugural Kent Wang lookbook shoot. It starred a number of made-to-measure suiting customers, as well as Kent himself, all shot by Barima in a vibrant London location

English-made Brockmans Gin holds an exciting allure based not only on its quality, but its core features: a passion for cocktail culture, a noirish, sensual aesthetic and an inexhaustible supply of gin-based puns on social media
Brockmans’s ‘Press For Gin’ competitions, which rewards its winners with a years supply of gin, have led to a series of successful experiential dinners across Britain. Interpreting a complex brief from Occupi Digital to capture a diverse range of content in Brockmans’s unique style whilst telling the story of one such event, Barima’s signature depiction of light and shadow led to widespread use of his photography across Brockmans’ social pages
Pan-African cultural festival Africa Utopia is a cornerstone of the Southbank Centre’s annual programming, encompassing art, music, fashion and workshops
Commissioned by youth culture magazine TRUE Africa to cover Africa Utopia 2016’s standout event, the African Squad fashion show, Barima wrote social media posts, created behind-the-scenes photographs to accompany editor Fleur McDonald’s feature article, and also presented a feature video for TRUE Africa, interviewing the budding young fashion designers behind the show’s kaleidoscopic creations

SHE-Y BY MENAYE
SHE-Y is an artisanal Italian luxury brand that produces unique, all-natural skincare products. Made from the highest level of Shea Butter and other ingredients, it is sold at retail in Europe and Africa.
Contacted by founder Menaye Donkor to create imagery for SHE-Y’s Ghanaian launch, Barima produced an outdoors shoot expressing a vision of Ghana’s natural beauty and earthy charm, in line with the product’s origins in this resource-rich country. Select images subsequently led SHE-Y’s Ghanaian social media campaign ahead of a successful launch party by the brand’s upscale retail partner in Accra.

Vodafone Uganda held a contest, “I Create Tomorrow,“ to find the country’s three most forward-thinking young aspirants in different fields. The winners - a budding filmmaker, a medical administrator and an emerging artist - embarked on a weeklong itinerary of London’s leading business and creative hubs, as well as Vodafone’s London office, in pursuit of their goals, documented by a talented film crew assembled by Dagon Media
To complement the professional filming, Barima was commissioned to capture behind-the-scenes stills for social media and press. The results communicated the life-changing experiences of the young Ugandans and the emotional impact of not only visiting London for the first time, but meeting and bonding with leaders in their distinct fields, who in turn provided each winner with the means to advance their dreams to a level they’d not thought possible
